iPhone 5 Detailed Teardown by iFixit

Those guys from iFixit have done it again, they have a comprehensive teardown of the new iPhone 5 and they had found some pretty interesting parts on why the iPhone 5 is not a minor upgrade from the iPhone 4S.

iPhone 5 is the latest flagship product of Apple that was release last September 12, and within 2 days of advance order they already got more 2 million sold.

Here's what iPhone 5 major Upgrades.
  • 4" 1136x640 pixel (326 ppi) Retina display
  • Apple A6 system on a chip (SoC)
  • 8 megapixel iSight camera
  • 8-pin Lightning connector
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • iOS 6

According to iFixit iPhone 5 Repairability: 7 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair), The iPhone 5 still uses Pentalobe screws on the exterior, making it more difficult to open the device.

The A6 processing power of the iPhone 5 is the first Apple System-on-Chip (SoC) to use a custom design, based off the ARMv7 instruction set.
