Globe Labs Developers Day: Going Beyond Standard Telephony

To rescue standard telephony business from stagnation, Globe Telecom is gathering together the dynamic developers community to take advantage of latest information technology developments in the field of voice applications.

The Globe Labs Developers Day which carries the theme “Power up with Voice,” will teach participants how to learn, build, and launch apps with voice capabilities that can be easily integrated to popular programming languages.

For instance, with Voice Application Programming Interface (API), developers can create apps to make a call to an actual phone number, route or reject a call, make conference calls, provide speech recognition, transcribe speech to text, or even record conversations as audio files

With Globe having practically completed its network modernization program, it can easily accommodate new communication modes to enhance the user experience of its subscribers.

“Globe Labs is continuously looking into innovative alternatives that could take voice services to a new level and we want to share this with the developers community. We also want them to learn from the tech gurus. Globe loves apps and cares a lot for the developers that is why the company takes great pride in helping them succeed,” said Greg Igaya, Globe Head of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation.

At present, standard telephony hardly has any value-added and customized services, thus, the need for Voice API to prevent telephony revenues from declining or remaining stagnant.

For Globe Labs Developers Day, Globe partners from Voxeo Labs will be flying over from their headquarters in Menlo Park, California to conduct the workshop. Voxeo Labs invest in revolutionary ideas and innovate new communications solutions. Its products include Tropo, Phono, Ameche and PRISM which are being used by over 150,000 developers and many of the largest telcos, mobile carriers, and enterprises around the world.

Voxeo Labs Chief Technology Officer Jose de Castro and Chief Evangelist Johnny Diggz are joining the event and will provide hands-on session on how to create applications leveraging on Voice API.

Globe Labs - Developers Day : Power up with Voice" will be held on April 13, Saturday, 9AM to 5PM, at Globe Corporate Showroom, Ground Floor, Valero Telepark, # 111, Valero Street, Makati City.
