Gadget ON: Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 Unboxing and First Impressions

Cherry Mobile TITAN 2.0 is an update to TITAN series, powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8625Q Quad-core processor with 5-inch HD IPS OGS Display.

TITAN 2.0 is part of the lineup in the TITAN series, this includes the TITAN PRO with G-Pen the stylus pen. Both smartphones are now available on all Cherry Mobile Stores nationwide.

I was lucky enough to get the new TITAN 2.0 and this is what my first impression of the device, I'm using it now as my main phone for days. So read on for the my review..

The Packaging. Just like any other smartphones in the market, the box of the TITAN 2.0 is standard looks like Apple iPhone packaging, which is now a standard for smartphones packaging nowadays.

It comes with standard 1 year warranty but there is a sticker on the box that it says it got 15months of warranty provided that you register after buying I suppose.
TITAN 2.0 main selling point is its huge battery that is 3000mAh and USB-OTG ready, this means that you don't need to buy that Php 30 cable from CDR-King which is nice.

Upon opening the box the TITAN 2.0 is inside a protective plastic sleeve, the package contents are the TITAN 2.0, battery, USB cable and plug adapter and manuals (which no one reads anymore).

Design of TITAN 2.0 seems familiar you say! well it is, it looks like one the of the Sony Experia phones. The 5-inch HD IPS OGS Display with 1280x720 resolution and 320ppi, looks really great specially for watching movies, for me 5-inch should be the standard for smartphones, 3.5-inch is just too small and you won't be able to appreciate those games that are graphics intensive.
The TITAN 2.0 camera have 12MP at the back and 5MP at the front, if its as good as what its advertised maybe I can use this in some of my upcoming events to be a backup camera to take photos.

The speaker is located at the lower back part of the device near the mouthpiece speaker, disadvantage of this is when you have the TITAN 2.0 on the table the sound seems too low, the speaker grill should have been in-line with the mouthpiece speaker for much better sound effects.

Once I opened the back cover, the 2 SIM slots are located near where the camera lens together with the micro-SD slot, now if you have the standard SIM card your out of luck as this device uses the micro-SIM, SIM1 support GSM+WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) this means that you can use this on AT&T in the US or other telco that support this band. While the SIM2 supports the standard GSM network.

With the 3000 mAh battery and OTG functions, this device can charge other phones and be able to transfer files using the standard USB cable. According to Cherry Mobile they will release a 6000mAh battery pack for the TITAN series with back cover included, they have not mention the price but we could expect it to be available next month.

First Impressions. I been using the TITAN 2.0 for days now, and I'm really impressed on how responsive it to my touch commands, so far I haven't encounter any problems. One minor issue though is the location of the speaker. Watch out for the Full review here soon...
